“The 8801 provides Neve console sound in a practical 1U rackmount architecture, with the ease of Total RecallTM and digital conversion. It does this by combining the famous Neve® mic preamplifier, strong EQ, and the outstanding 88R dynamics processor.
The 8801 microphone preamp delivers a high gain output and ideal tone across a range of sound sources thanks to an innovative Marinair® transformer.
The 8801 topology has a wide bandwidth/high output design, just like the 88RS. The primary output gain, which is managed by the rotary fader pot, has an extremely low noise floor and a maximum output of +26dBu. Before signals enter the DAW, this system, which also has switchable input & output 7-stage metering, is excellent for optimum gain staging.”
